Tooth Coronal Index: A Novel Tool For Age Estimation on Cone-Beam Computed Tomography
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: To evaluate dental age assessment reliability through Tooth Coronal Index (TCI) method. Material and Methods: The cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans of 160 individuals aged between 20-70 years were analyzed in the present study. height crown, i.e., coronal height, pulp cavity, cavity mandibular second premolars first molars calculated then TCI was measured. actual a subject compared with tooth acquired data subjected to Pearson’s correlation unpaired t-tests. Results: Negative observed real molar (r = -0.094, p=0.382) premolar -0.176, p=0.0961. Statistically significant difference for (p<0.001). Conclusion: index has potential estimate an individual on CBCT scans. It is simple, cost-effective than histological methods can be applied both living unknown dead.

A new periapical index based on cone beam computed tomography.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate a new periapical index based on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for identification of apical periodontitis (AP). The periapical index proposed in this study (CBCTPAI) was developed on the basis of criteria established from measurements corresponding to periapical radiolucency interpreted on CBCT scans. Radiolucent images suggestive of periapical le...

Objectives: This study was performed to investigate the prevalence of idiopathic osteosclerosis on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of patients. Methods: In this descriptive, cross-sectional study, 240 CBCT scans of patients (125 women, 115 men) referred to a private oral and maxillofacial radiology clinic in Tehran in 2013 were selected and evaluated. Presence of idiopathic osteosc...

Volume 3 | Issue 2 Abstract Age estimation from tooth – coronal index (TCI) using dental radiographs based on reduction in the size of the dental pulp cavity with advancing age as a result of secondary dentin deposition, has been presented. The study aimed to assess the accuracy of age estimation from TCI of mandibular premolars and molars (except wisdom teeth) of both sides using panoramic rad...
متن کاملQuantification of tooth displacement from cone-beam computed tomography images.
INTRODUCTION The objectives of this study were to demonstrate a method that could be used to quantify three-dimensional (3D) tooth displacement from cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images and to assess its accuracy. METHODS Images of the same mandible taken 2 weeks apart with no treatment were used. Four mandibular teeth-left lateral incisor, left canine, left first premolar, and left fi...
متن کاملAge estimation in an Indian population using pulp/tooth volume ratio of mandibular canines obtained from cone beam computed tomography.
The present study assessed the suitability of pulp/tooth volume ratio of mandibular canines for age prediction in an Indian population. Volumetric reconstruction of scanned images of mandibular canines from 140 individuals (aged ten - 70 years), using computed tomography was used to measure pulp and tooth volumes. Age calculated using a formula reported earlier for a Belgian sample, resulted in...
